Gem Sessions is a multifaceted basketball development company in Indianapolis specializing in providing resources to the basketball community through in-person training, remote coaching, media & content production and philanthropic projects.

Description

The Gem Sessions internship is designed for current or recently graduated college or high school students. Interns will enter a 12-15 week program to gain hands-on experience in all major facets of a training business. Our goal is to prepare young professionals for a successful career and equip them with the training, experience, education and support to accomplish their goals in the industry.

Responsibilities

Our interns will become an extension of the company ownership. Interns will be trained & highly involved in all of the following processes and more:

  • New client onboarding, assessments & scheduling.

  • Designing client programs, nutritional guidance & recovery plans.

  • Training hands-on with clients & athletes.

  • Inbound & outbound marketing of the gym in our community.

  • Management of all social media accounts.

  • Day-to-day business operations such as billing, customer support, cleaning, etc.

  • Leading new initiatives, projects and team meetings.

Requirements

Interns must be:

  • A full-time student or recently graduated from high school or college.

  • Interested in pursuing a career in training, coaching, management or entrepreneurship.

  • Coachable, enthusiastic, polite, professional and reliable.

Not required, but recommended:

  • Majoring in or completed a degree in exercise science, kinesiology or a related field.

  • Able to provide your own transportation to and from the gym.

  • Pursuing or have already completed some level of fitness certification.

  • Experience or interest in basketball

Compensation

This is an unpaid internship intended to be a part of the college curriculum. If you are unsure of whether or not this program can be applied to your coursework as credits, please connect us with your academic counselor. Paid opportunities or employment opportunities may present themselves during or after this internship. This is a part-time workload with extreme flexibility. We are located in Indianapolis, IN.
